The hotel was founded in 1953 by Miss. Ruth del Pino Trujillo, this hotel was previously used as a house, beggining with 8 rooms that eventually were adapted according to that certain period of time, they all feature private bathroom and warm water service, that way becoming the first one of its kind in the state.

The name given to the Hotel was chosen as a symbol to reflect a defining period the del Pino family endured. Up until the 20th century the del Pino family was involved in the Agriculture and liquor industry, when a sudden economic downturn took them by surprise and forced them to leave behind their traditional way of life. Nevertheless, Miss. Ruth decided not to let her family down, tackling this new duty and arising from the ashes like the Phoenix of legend.

Currently the hotel offers 46 guestrooms nicely equipped with air conditioning and TV, restaurant with bar service, laundry and parking lot. Always relying on a personalized attention and preserving its traditional family environment that has identified the Fenix Hotel throughout the years.
