Mazatlán
Mazatlán is Sinaloa's most popular tourist destination. With extensive beaches, the largest Mexican port on the Pacific Ocean, and 22 kilometers of beautiful coast, this area is known as the Pearl of the Pacific. Mazatlán offers a wide range of tourist services, all types of lodging, activities, relaxation and fun. Areas of interest include the Golden Zone, the Ángela Peralta Theater, El Faro (the Lighthouse) and the Pino Suárez market.
Los Mochis
Los Mochis is another important destination in Sinaloa because it is the entry point to Copper Canyon in the state of Chihuahua. Los Mochis is 20 minutes from the commercial port of Topolobampo, one of the most important ports on the Pacific because of its direct connection and constant commercial interchange with the state of Baja California Sur.
Among the many attractive tourist spots in Los Mochis you will find Sinaloa Park and Botanical Gardens, La Pérgola at the base of Cerro de la Memoria, The Valle del Fuerte Regional Museum, the American Colony, "September 27th" Square, the Santuario del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús (Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus), and the Ingenio Azucarero.
Culiacán
Culiacán, the state's capital, is second only to Mazatlán in its popularity as a tourist destination. The major attraction of this area is the natural beauty including its beaches. Bold visitors can discover virgin beaches, and other areas offer contagious fun and various seafood dishes.
Some of these beaches include Ponce, El Robalar, El Conchal and Arenitas. Médano Blanco, Vigía, Barra de la Tonina and Casino del Mar all satisfy tourist's needs for tranquility and inspiration at the sea's edge.
One of the main places for entertainment in the city is the Culiacán 87 Park. Culiacán 87 has sport facilities, swimming pools, games, 140 meter waterslides, artificial lake, peddle boats, boats with oars, horseback riding, kayaks, swimming classes, diving and snorkeling. Another alternative is the Civic Center Constitution with sports fields, zoo, open air theater, pond and regional history museum.
