Mazatlán International Carnival (February - March 2006)
Carnival in Mazatlán is one of the more important festivals in the state and is considered one of the best Carnivals in the country. Mazatlán, in full Carnival dress, receives visitors from all over the world in a town festival that overflows into the streets and malecón. The celebration consists of the "Quema del Mal Humor" or "Burning of Bad Humor", the election of the Queen and King of the Carnival, and concludes with the parade of decorated cars and floats.
El Cid International Amateur Golf Tournament (March)
This tournament, called the "Tom García" tournament has been held at the El Cid Resort for more than 20 years. It brings the best amateur golfers seeking excellent prizes year after year.
Great Pacific Triathlon (May)
This triathlon attracts athletes from Mexico, Europe and many other countries. The competition consists of 3 events: 1500 meter swim, 40 km bicycle ride and a 10 km run. This event is considered to be a great tourist draw for the state.
Sinaloa Festival de Los Pueblos (May)
This cultural festival is intended to show the public, to the state in particular, the enormous diversity of folkloric and popular art in the area and to promote the work of some of the groups in the region that are invited to participate. This event helps to foster a culture of coexistence and recognition among the different towns.
Mazatlán Cattle Expo (May)
This expo consists of a series of cultural and artistic events along with conferences and new product offerings and services for the cattle industry. The best of the breeds are also exhibited.
"Future" Professional Tennis Tournament (October)
Sinaloa hosts this important international tournament in October with some of the best tennis players in the world. Professional players at the international level compete on the tennis courts of the El Cid Clubhouse.
Bisbee's Marina del Cid Classic Sport Fishing Tournament (November)
This international sport fishing tournament offers great prizes for the best marlin. This tournament has been celebrated in the Marina del Cid for several years and is a great event for the Port of Mazatlán and professional fishermen alike.
Mazatlán International Regatta (November)
Many decorated and swift-sailing vessels compete to finish first in this showy regatta that takes place in the waters of the Mexican Pacific.
Great Pacific Marathon (December)
Celebrated annually, this important event attracts international level athletes competing for the gold medal in this 42 kilometer marathon. Amateur runners can participate in the 10 kilometer race.
