The numerous beaches on the coast are very important for the city since they are the main source of entertainment in the summer. It is also the most popular tourist spot. Some of the beaches are Cuyutlán and Boca de Pascuales.

El Chanal

This pre-Hispanic ceremonial center is located 6 kilometers north of the city of Colima. It is believed to have been created between 1100 and 1400 A.D. It has pyramids, the remains of temples, plazas and a space believed to have been used for a ball game.

Other places of interest in Colima are: the "María Ahumada de Gómez" Western Culture Regional Museum, the Regional History Museum, the "María Teresa Pomar" Popular Art and Culture Museum, and the University of Colima Art Gallery.

Manzanillo

Manzanillo, known as the Emerald of the Pacific, is famous for its abundance of sailfish and marlin. It has become a favorite Mexican spot to fish for these species. National and international fishing tournaments are held in this beautiful port throughout the year.

Manzanillo's beaches are also famous. Some of the most popular beaches include: Playa Miramar, Playa la Audiencia, Playa las Hadas, Santiago, Las Brisas, San Pedrito and Playa de Oro. The beaches of this spectacular port can be enjoyed in many different ways. Recline on a beach chair and enjoy a cold beer, get a comfortable massage, eat a delicious dish of some of the best seafood in the region, swim in the calm waters or amuse yourself with a great variety of water sports.

With its top-notch tourist services and its beautiful geography surrounded by rocky formations and elevations that form small bays and creeks with pleasant beaches, Manzanillo is one of the best tourist spots on the Pacific coast.
