Guerrero, like the majority of the states in Mexico, has a considerable number of religious festivals throughout the year. The most popular of these is the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe on December 12th.
Guerrero is a very important part of tourism in Mexico with its world-famous Acapulco.
This city hosts several international events like the "Acafest" festival in May. This music festival gathers artists from all over the world.
The Tianguis tourism show in Acapulco is another important event for the state.
For more than three decades, during this show in March, tourism providers from all around the country come together to exhibit their great diversity of services.
The Mexican Open Tennis Tournament is one of the most anticipated sporting events in Acapulco. This event is hosted at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess Hotel.
For the last thirty years, the Biochemistry Congress has also met in Acapulco.
