Toluca, the capital of the Estado de Mexico, is the highest city in the country at 2,680 meters above sea level. Toluca holds the remnants of a conquered land, framed by the majestic natural beauty of the volcano "Nevado de Toluca". This beautiful colossus rises with its white skirts on the valley plains. This is the only volcano in the world in which you can drive to the crater.
The combination of imposing pre-Columbian architecture and the churches of the colonial era converge in a delight of structures that make up the essence of the city. Its highly valuable cultural center displays the chronology of the city's artistic and cultural evolution.
