Veracruz Carnival
The Carnival celebration in Veracruz is one of the best in Mexico and is internationally known. This celebration has taken place for more than eighty years either in February or March. This is a town festival where everyone enjoys the "Quema del Mal Humor" or "Burning of Bad Humor," the election of the Queen and King of the Carnival, and the parade of decorated cars and floats that travels around the malecón of the city with dances, celebration and much joy.
Sábalo de Plata Fishing Tournament
The Sábalo de Plata Fishing Tournament has been around for four decades reuniting the best fishermen of the Gulf of Mexico and the world. The tournament is organized by the Veracruz Yacht Club every year during May. The event starts with the coronation of the queen of the contest. The tournament awards prizes of all types worth thousands of pesos and draws professionals and novices alike.
Lakewood Yacht Club - Friends Regatta, Galveston - VeraCruz, Mexico
This competition is part of A&M University's calendar of events every year. The regatta brings together many enthusiasts who cross the Gulf of Mexcio from Veracruz to Galveston Texas in a great commotion. This event has taken place for almost 50 years and is usually scheduled in June.
